Welcome to Cornwall Iron Furnace, established in 1742 by Peter Grubb. The Grubb family operated the site until 1798. At that time, Robert Coleman acquired the ironmaking facility and 5/6 of the interest in the nearby iron mine. These elaborate red sandstone buildings were built by the Coleman family in the mid-nineteenth century to protect the equipment in this industrial site. |
